Biography

Stefano Carlesi is an experienced researcher and technologist with a
strong background in agricultural research. He currently works at the
Institute of Life Science at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa,
Italy, where he holds the position of Researcher (RTD-a) in Agronomy
and Crop Science. In this role, he has been responsible for
coordinating and conducting research on sustainable crop
management, leading workshops for farmers and stakeholders, and
managing open-field experimental trials. He has also previously held positions as a research collaborator and research fellow at the same
institution.
During his tenure at the Institute of Life Science, Stefano has been
involved in a number of research projects, including IPMWORKS,
TOMATRACK, INSOLE, IWMPRISE and MEORBICO. In these
projects, he has played various roles such as National Focal Point
(Italy), Orchard Sector Leader and Scientific responsible for SSSA.
He has also been responsible for organizing farmer demo activities,
conducting farm surveys, and overseeing the collection and analysis
of crop and weed data.
In addition to his research activities, Stefano is also a lecturer in the
Master of Science program in “Sustainable Integrated Pest
Management (IPM) Technologies for Mediterranean Fruit and
Vegetable Crops” at CIHEAM-MAIB. He is dedicated to sharing his
knowledge and expertise with others and has a passion for promoting
sustainable agricultural practices.
