Biography

Full Professor of Administrative Law at the Scuola Superiore
Sant’Anna, Edoardo Chiti (1969) holds an LL.M. from the University
College London and a Ph.D. from the European University Institute.
He has authored four monographs (one of which as co-author with
Claudio Franchini), co-edited various books and published about 130
chapters in books and articles in prestigious Italian and international
journals in the fields of EU, global and comparative administrative
law. In the editorial board of a number of academic journals and
member of various public law societies, including the European
Group of Public Law, and the Istituto per le ricerche sulle pubbliche
amministrazioni (Irpa), Edoardo has held several institutional
appointments at the University of Tuscia and at the Scuola Sant’Anna.
His research focusses on EU Administration and Administrative Law,
Global Governance and Global Administrative Law, Comparative
Administrative Law, all approached from a ‘law in context’
perspective. He is currently working on the features and ways of
functioning of the European Green Deal as a regulatory project aimed
at ensuring the ecological transition of the European Union; the
changing legal construction of sustainability (sustainable
development, ecological primacy, ecosystems’ health and
conservation); the administrative law of circular economy and its
relevance for the European economic constitution; the use made by
public administrations of artificial intelligence, big data and
blockchain, and its impact on the principles and rules of administrative
activity.
